Highlights

Classic Itinerary:
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio was born in 28 September 1571 – 18 July 1610) was an Italian painter active in Rome, Naples, Malta, and Sicily from the early 1590 to 1610.
His paintings combine a realistic observation of the human state, both physical and emotional, with a dramatic use of lighting, and they had a formative influence on Baroque painting.
Caravage Tour starts the with the national church of France, St. Louis of the French which contains three paintings of the artist: St. Mathew’s Vocation, St. Mathew’s Martyrdom, both painted between 1599 and 1600, and St. Mathew with the Angel painted later in 1602.
We continue the Caravage Tour visiting inside the church of St. Augustine, on the altar of the first chapel to the left, we find the Madonna of Pilgrims dated between 1603 and 1606.
Inside St. Mary of the People, in the Cerasi Chapel, we can admire two famous paintings: the Conversion of Paul and the Crucifixion of Peter.
