Description

Oslo, the oldest of the Scandanavian Capitals, was founded by Harald Hadrade in the 11th Century and is surrounded by Mountains at the head of a 70 mile fjord. Oslo is an easy-going city where history meets modernity, it boasts world-class museums, a lively nightlife and plenty of outdoor activities and many locals are keen hikers, skiers or sailors. See Oslo from the top deck of an open top bus and enjoy 360-degree views of the city. Hop on and off the bus tour at your leisure at conveniently located stops around the city. Hop off at the Ibsen Museum, which is dedicated to the 19th-century Norwegian playwright, theatre director, and poet Henrik Ibsen. The museum is partly Ibsen’s refurbished apartment where he lived in his later life until his death in 1906, and partly exhibition space showcasing displays relating to his work. The Royal Palace was built in the first half of the 19th century as the Norwegian residence of Norwegian and Swedish king Charles III and is the official residence of the present Norwegian Monarch. Watch the changing of the guard and enjoy the surrounding parkland, which is open to all.
