Classical Itinerary:
A short walk in the largest center of Europe, to discover the "carruggi" (the typical narrow streets of the old town) from Piazza De Ferrari, with the Teatro dell'Opera Carlo Felice and Palazzo liberty della Borsa.
Following are the Doge's Palace and the Church of Jesus, rich baroque church with works by Guido Reni and Rubens.
A short distance away, the medieval Porta Soprana, the House of Columbo and the Cathedral, a beautiful Romanesque Gothic church where tradition says it's still preserved the Sacred Basin or Grail.
Nearby is the medieval St. Matthew Square, a typical example of Genoa residences.
Continuing for Piazza Campetto and Via degli Orefici, full of shops and and old pastries, then Piazza Banchi, once the seat of the market and of the money changers, now dominated by the characteristic Church of St. Peter.
The tour ends with Palazzo San Giorgio where it says that the prisoner Marco Polo had dictated his Million.
Finally the Expo, the Old Port, restored by Renzo Piano in 1992 and today the most touristic area of the city with the Aquarium, the Bigo and the Children's City.
